BERLIN ART WEEK - abc ART BERLIN CONTEMPORARY - STYLE PEOPLE EVENT

The 2012 abc - ART BERLIN CONTEMPORARY took place last week and it is interesting: It's the new mayor art fair in Berlin, the place to be during the new installed BERLIN ART WEEK. The entry fee of 8€ is much less then the 27pounds of the FRIEZE ART FAIR in London.

dOCUMENTA (13) - Kader Attia - The Repair from Occident to Extra-Occidental Cultures

Kader Attia [born 1970 in Dugny, France] developed the concept of The Repair from Occident to Extra-Occidental Cultures (commissioned and produced by dOCUMENTA (13)).

It's the idea of repairing: people in african countries repair objects not in a way that put them back to their original look. Instead they add something to the objects that makes the repair visible.

He put the repaired african objects in a context to repaired faces from soldiers from World War I and contemporary african sculptures.

Most impressive and scary is the dia-projection of many 'repaired' faces of the soldiers...I sware you haven't seen before...
